THE POWER OF CHOICE

Now, my friends, we arrive at a pivotal choice point, a juncture that will determine the fundamental quality of our lives, both personal and collective, from this moment onward.

The choice is this: will we continue to reach out to information, behavior, relationships, and energies that justify our right to suffer, or will we step up to the sacred challenge of embodying the vibration of the liberated planet we wish to see?

This is not a choice that anyone can make for you. The responsibility is entirely your own. And there is no shame or judgement imposed upon you for choosing to uphold your right to suffer and feel awful about yourself. Historically, that choice has been potent medicine for many beings, myself included. But nevertheless, it’s just a choice. And equally available to you is the choice to step into a reality where you are so fed by the benefits you bring to life that you are no longer tempted to indulge in your right to suffer and compulsively poison yourself and others with negative energy.

Now, you may not believe that suffering and negativity are optional. You may be actively offended by such a statement. And this is a reflection of how deeply ingrained self-harm has been programmed into you as “normal” and “sane.” It’s not your fault. We were all programmed with madness and were taught to believe it was normal. And the way to deprogram yourself is to open up to the truth and admit: despite your insistence that suffering is something imposed upon you against your will and you want desperately to be free of it, there’s a part of you that is so terrified of no longer having the drug of misery in your life because without it, you would have no idea who you are any more. And you’d rather know who you are and suffer because it’s more comfortable and familiar to you than the raw mystery of who you are when you no longer need to suffer in order to justify your existence.

What we are most afraid of is the power of our choice. May these words embolden you to choose wisely and lovingly, for the benefit of all.
