THE END OF SERIOUSNESS, THE BEGINNING OF PLAY

All the world’s a stage the moment you begin to truly play. 

The time for severity and seriousness as a “reasonable” attitude is over, and is rapidly being recognized as a root cause of the widespread dysfunction we are witnessing come tumbling down all around us.

In the materialist paradigm that humanity is currently waking up from, life is very somber and serious indeed. How could it not be? If we are to accept the core superstitions of materialism, life, being nothing more than randomly active inert matter, ends in utter oblivion, with absolutely no hope or meaning of any kind possible. 

Materialism claims that all hope and meaning are futile defense mechanisms that die along with the material body, which is blindly assumed to be the only thing about us that is real. From this perspective, life is dead serious, and all of the goodness of life is a mere bandage on the gaping wound of existential doom that supposedly awaits us all, for the end of the form is the end of everything, with no new beginning possible.

This materialism contributed in large part to the hellscape that we called “normal” for centuries: a world a limitation, scarcity, insufficiency, widespread fear, and a fierce competition between all human beings to see who ends up with the most matter at the end of their meaningless, random lives. 

To cling to materialism at this stage of human history is to shackle yourself to insanity, depravity, and death. For we are entering a trans-materialist paradigm, one that does not deny the seeming reality of the transient material world, but also celebrates the primacy and permanence of Spirit. (Or whatever label you prefer for non-material reality.) 

If we are not only to survive, but flourish as a species, the primacy and permanence of limitless Spirit must be honored and integrated into our collective understanding of the material world. Spirit must be recognized as the deeper, truer reality, and matter must take its place as subservient to that deeper reality. And this is already happening. The trans-materialist perspective is already on its way to becoming mainstream and utterly obvious to most, if not all, beings on this planet. 

Rejoice! The seriousness of materialism is on its way out, and the play of trans-materialism is playing its way in! Play on, my friends! And if things seem serious to you, that is to be honored as well. Your time to play and be light of heart shall arrive in due time.
