HEALING SEXUAL SHAME, EMBODYING TRUE POWER
It has become increasingly clear to me in the last month or so that one of my missions in this lifetime is to give humanity its best shot at healing itself of sexual shame by healing it within myself. I intend to embody a grounded, balanced, potent, and loving erotic energy for the wellbeing of one and all.
Many years of my life have been spent in unconscious denial of the depths of sexual shame I have carried in my body. This is not “my shame,” per se. It’s more like eons of accumulated shame that I have had an opportunity to experience firsthand, and thus also have an opportunity to transmute firsthand. When we find the courage to open up to the energy of shame, to share it consciously with others, it quickly loses its grip over us. Because what is shame? Shame is that shadowy energy within humanity which attempts to control what is truly powerful. One can only shame a power that one believes themselves to be lacking. So shame, powerlessness, and scarcity always go hand in hand.
Our culture has been rooted in shame programming for so long, and in many ways still is. It was literally impossible to grow up in this world without being deeply affected by shame programs. It is no wonder why so many of us walk this Earth feeling powerless, hopeless, like our destinies are not our own. We have all felt the deep pain of being shamed, and in turn we have shamed others. Both movements of the flow of shame psychologically and energetically distance us from the source of true power. Instead of feeling connected, vital, and whole, we are forever searching for power outside of ourselves in increasingly desperate ways. And whenever we receive it, we feel shame, because shame and power have become indistinguishable to us in the noise of our conditioning process.
Now is the time to disentangle the karmic knots of shame that keep our power- personal, creative, sexual, collective, or otherwise- out of reach. To surrender our tendency to shame and make wrong what is most alive and liberated within and around us in a doomed attempt to control what shall always be wild and unnameable about us.
As with all things, the healing of shame and the embodiment of true power begins where is most needed and obvious: in our bodies, alive and breathing at this very moment.
If you are reading these words, I call upon you to shine the light of your attention upon where shame dwells most conspicuously within you. For those areas that have been most shamed carry your deepest treasures.
