The Source of Your Power
How much of our lives is wasted trying to shape it into configurations that we believe will please us or keep us safe?
We try to make our circumstances leech good feelings into us, when the reality is we must first discover how to generate good feelings within ourselves, when then leads to transformed outer circumstances.
Why is the romantic love relationship so vaunted and coveted by humanity? Because it is through a romantic love relationship that two human egos can hide from their own power most effectively. Through a special love relationship, two egos have convenient proof that something outside of them can complete them and bring them love and connection. This is a dream. This is why most love relationships tend to be painful, stressful, and tumultuous, even when there may be some degree of genuine love involved: they are based on the dream of lack, the myth that wellbeing is given to individuals by external situations or other individuals. We live in a world where it’s as if everyone has an eternal well of pure, clean, delicious water within their hearts, and yet they are thirsty because they think that they can only drink from the wells of others. They have forgotten that they have a perfectly good well within them. And thus, we all sit around, waiting for our thirst to be quenched, never quite satiated, always craving more.
In truth, YOU are the source of your wellbeing, happiness, power, fulfillment, and love. No one can actually give any of those things to you. You have simply been taught by a completely insane world that the source of goodness is to be found in the external physical reality. You have been trained to seek light from others, and in the meantime your natural ability to cultivate and generate light within yourself, which on a sane planet would be considered as natural as breathing, has been discounted, forgotten, and allowed to atrophy.
But the good news is this: no matter how long you have ignored or overlooked your own power, it has never truly left you. Even if you have been seeking fulfillment in the external world for your entire life, your internal source of power simply lies dormant, awaiting its inevitable rediscovery. The power you have been seeking in the external is but a fraction of the power you will enjoy when all external seeking ceases. When you really see for yourself that all of your seeking has been futile, the inner journey of awakening to and living as the source of power can begin. And that is a journey well worth taking.
